Michael Imossan is a poet, playwright and editor of Ibibio origin. He is the author of the award-winning chapbook “For the Love of Country and Memory” (poetrycolumn-NND, 2022) as well as the gazelle “A Prelude to Caving” (Konyanshamsrumi, 2023). Michael Imossan had his full length poetry manuscript “Broken in Three Places” named Semifinalist for the Sillerman First Book Prize for African poetry, 2023 after which he was declared winner in 2024 for the manuscript “All that Refuses to Die”. He has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize, 2024, Best of Net, 2023 and Forward Poetry Prize, 2024. He was awarded a honorable mention by IHRAF, 2023 and DiBiase Poetry Prize, 2024. He is a winner of the Radical Arts Writers Contest. Michael Imossan is a recipient of the PEN International writers grant.
