Each year the Lagos International Poetry Festival hosts an array of poets, writers, musicians, visual artists and public intellectuals from across the world. Inevitably, many fall outside our radar. If you think we missed you, fill out the short application below. The festival is greatly enriched by the ideas and artistry of the guests who visit us each year and we are open and will be happy to consider you.

The festival has a rolling quota for guest applications and selects based on a few variables including potential fit with the year’s theme, experience, and reputation as judged by published work, in print or performance, and available funding among others. International applicants who can cover all or some of their travel costs, and meet the criteria, are strongly considered.

Applications will follow a strict submission window, which will be announced across our social media channels.

The festival will be happy to support you with letters and any other relevant document if you wish to apply for a travel grant. The festival also subsidizes, and in some cases covers the full cost of travel for international applicants on a case by case basis.
