David Odiase is an interdisciplinary artist whose work spans literature, poetry, performance, film, and technology. His art delves into African histories, cultures, and people, exploring complex narratives through experimental forms. His poetry films have been featured at international festivals, including the African International Film Festival (Nigeria), Zebra Poetry Festival (Germany), and he was a finalist at the 2023 Emmys’ International Young Creative Award.
An alumnus of the Obsidian Foundation Poetry Retreat, David has performed at notable venues such as the National Poetry Library (UK), Live Literature Festival (Slovenia), and the San Francisco International Arts Festival. He has collaborated with Goethe-Institut, Change.org, and the Canadian High Commission.
David is dedicated to challenging stereotypes about Africa, recently advocating for the restitution of African heritage with support from African No Filter. He has won multiple awards, including the Kudo Eresia-Eke Performance Poetry Prize, and is a 2024 finalist for the UN’s SDG Action Awards.
