Àrẹ̀mọ Gemini

Yusuf Àlàbí Balógun (Àrẹ̀mọ Gemini) is an experimental performance poet, TEDx speaker and art specialist, with a core focus in Yorùbá arts and culture. He is the author of the critically acclaimed Yorùbá genre bending novel – Ṣẹ̀gílọlá Arómirẹ́ Ògìdán. He has numerous works to his credits, including collaboration with South African artiste – Willemien Rust (Beginnes & Eindes), Juwon Adenuga (Ìyá Ìyá), Abdulwasiu Salimat (Goloto), Nigerian musical artiste, Temmie Ovwasa (Space Fuji), Nigerian filmmaker and director, Seun Afolabi (Atọ́ka). His poem “Àbámọ̀” was the official soundtrack for Remi Ibinola’s movie – Charms. His art is heavily influenced by grassroot realities, marginalised tales and historical preservation. Àrẹ̀mọ Gemini believes that necessary stories should be told, even from a small room.
